SWISS Magazine's Lusophone World Focus: A Captivating Edition

I recall that one of the most Lusophone-centric edition of SWISS Magazine of SWISS International Air Lines was that of February 2020.

The SWISS Magazine holds a special place among my favorite in-flight magazines. I'm delighted that it offers a PDF version, although I must admit my preference leans towards the printed edition – call me old school, but I'm an avid collector.

One of the standout features of this magazine, in my opinion, is its exceptional route map. As a cartophile, I find the route map not only informative but also visually stunning, ranking among the best in the industry.

In this edition, the magazine takes readers on a captivating journey, showcasing a selection of remarkable destinations.

São Paulo - BRAZIL

According to Wikipedia, this city proudly holds the status of an alpha global city, reigning as the most populous urban center not only in Brazil but also across the Western Hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere. Beyond its demographic significance, it serves as Brazil's bustling cultural and financial epicenter, while also wielding substantial influence as a pivotal transportation hub in South America.

For students of the Portuguese language and ardent admirers of Lusophone culture, this city stands as the largest Portuguese-speaking metropolis in the world. My personal experiences in this vibrant city have left an indelible mark, making it one of my cherished destinations. With that said, I invite you to delve into the captivating article featured in this edition of SWISS Magazine, which promises to offer a treasure trove of intriguing insights and information.

Algarve - PORTUGAL (Starts at page 40)

The Algarve in the south of Portugal is known for its beaches and golfing.

Ponta Delgada, Azores - PORTUGAL (Starts at page 112)

This city, the largest in Azores, an autonomous region of Portugal located in mid-Atlantic, halfway between north America and Europe, is a beautiful city and an excellent base to explore the 9 islands of the Azores. This will be a new seasonal destination of SWISS as I had discussed earlier in another post.
